Painter Nozzle Libraries

Here's an example of why you don't want to use Painter's Nozzle Libraries. Nozzles accessed from a library are prone to blurring in Painter versions 5.5 - 9.

Because the nozzles render so much more clearly when they're loaded separate from libraries, you never want to paint with nozzles accessed from a nozzle library. Load the nozzle using the Load Nozzle command (Cmd/Ctrl +L).

Here are a couple of suggestions to extract nozzles already in nozzle libraries. First, use F-Key settings found in Painter Preferences to speed things up. Simply make one F-Key do the "Check Out Nozzle" command on the nozzle palette and another do the "Save" command. Conversion becomes a simple 3 key stroke sequence. For example, F5 > Enter > F6 will "Check Out" the selected nozzle, scale it to the default 100% and save it to your hard drive.

If F-Keys are still too much of a hassle and you have a newer Wacom tablet with a Menu Strip, just use one of the Wacom script buttons to record all three strokes. It's that easy.
